1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using StudyInk, including free previews without an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Using the upload and generation tools confirms you have read and accept both these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. The Service

StudyInk is an AI-powered study platform in early development, currently free to use. It turns video links, PDFs, documents, and pasted text into lessons with theory overviews, practice questions, and flashcards, and offers AI tutoring, SAT prep, study groups, peer tutoring, and a collaborative whiteboard. Pricing, limits, features, and availability may change as the service grows; material changes will be posted here.

• Accuracy: AI-generated content can contain errors. Verify anything important independently, especially for graded work and exams.
• Your use: You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use generated content for your own studying.
• Your inputs: You are responsible for what you submit. Only upload material you own or are allowed to use.

3. Guest Previews and Fair Use

You can try generation without an account, subject to a limited hourly quota per visitor. Guest previews are time-boxed and are not stored on our servers; creating an account is the only way to save a lesson permanently. We collect device and connection signals to enforce quotas and prevent abuse. Evading quotas (for example with multiple identities, automation, or repeated storage clearing) violates these Terms and may result in blocked access.

4. Accounts and Age

Registration requires an email address, a password of at least 8 characters, and your date of birth. If you are under 16, you must provide a parent or guardian email address, and your profile is private by default. One person may maintain one account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited actions include:

• Attempting to bypass safety filters, rate limits, quotas, or access controls.
• Using automation, scrapers, or bots to harvest content or exhaust shared AI capacity.
• Generating harmful, illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit content, or content that endangers minors.
• Harassing other users or disrupting study groups, duels, tutoring sessions, or whiteboards.
• Referral, duel, leaderboard, or reward fraud, including fake accounts and coordinated farming.
• Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, quotas, or bans.
• Uploading material that infringes copyrights or other rights, including pirated textbooks and ripped media.

6. Copyright and Takedowns

If you believe content on StudyInk infringes your copyright, send a notice to contact@mail.studyink.xyz identifying the work, the infringing material (URL or lesson link), and your contact details, with a good-faith statement and your authority to act. We remove or disable access to material we determine to be infringing, notify the uploader where possible, and terminate repeat infringers. Uploaders who believe their material was removed in error may send a counter-notice with the same details plus consent to jurisdiction.

7. Your Content and Visibility

You keep ownership of content you create. New lessons are private by default and visible only to you. If you publish a lesson publicly or list it on the marketplace, you grant StudyInk a worldwide license to host, display, and distribute it within the Service for as long as it stays published. To avoid dozens of identical copies, substantially identical public lessons may be linked together instead of duplicated, with attribution to the original. The platform itself, including software, design, branding, and AI systems, remains the exclusive property of StudyInk.

8. Ink and Rewards

Ink is a virtual platform currency earned through studying and spent on generation. Ink has no monetary value, is not redeemable for money, and does not represent stored value, property, or an ownership interest of any kind.

• License only: You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable (except as below), revocable license to use Ink inside the Service. We retain all right, title, and interest in it.
• Our discretion: We may manage, modify, limit, or remove Ink at any time, including earning rates, costs, balances, and available uses, with no liability to you. Additional uses or benefits may be added over time.
• No cash value: Ink cannot be sold, redeemed, or exchanged for money or value outside the Service. Attempts are void and may lead to account action.
• Gifting: Transfers between users are allowed only through official Service gifting features, where offered. Gifting may require established accounts in good standing and is subject to daily limits and anti-fraud review. We may adjust eligibility, limits, or availability at any time.
• Forfeiture: Balances are forfeited when an account closes or is terminated for violations. Fraudulently obtained balances are removed.

9. Referral Program

We may reward inviting new users. Automated abuse detection applies, fraudulent referrals earn nothing and may lead to account action, and we can modify or end the program at any time.

10. Termination and Deletion

Request deletion anytime from your profile settings. Accounts enter a retention window first (logging back in cancels the request), then are permanently removed; encrypted backups may persist briefly after that. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with earned balances forfeited.

11. Third-Party Services

Generation runs through third-party AI providers, sign-in can use third-party accounts, and transcripts come from the video platform. Your use of linked services is subject to their terms as well as ours.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or completely accurate Service, and AI output should never replace professional, academic, or medical advice.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyInk is not liable for damages arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on AI-generated content, data loss, account actions for violations, or third-party service behavior.

14. Changes and Contact

We may update these Terms at any time without prior notice, and changes take effect immediately on posting. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance, so review this page periodically. Questions, takedowns, or appeals: contact@mail.studyink.xyz.
