Cómo son las preguntas
A diagram with parallel lines cut by a transversal, two triangles, or a set of angles with one or two measures given and an unknown to find.
El error que cuesta puntos
Assuming a figure's sides are equal or a pair of lines is parallel because the drawing suggests it. Only stated facts and drawn markings count.
Cómo resolverlas
Mark every given on the figure, then work outward from what is provable. Similar triangles give a proportion to set up, and angle sums give everything else.

Preguntas sobre Lines, angles, and triangles
- What makes two triangles similar on the SAT?
- Two matching angles are enough, because the third follows from the angle sum. Parallel lines and shared angles are the usual reason a pair of angles matches.
- Which angle relationships come up most?
- Vertical angles, the pairs formed when a transversal crosses parallel lines, and the exterior angle of a triangle being equal to the sum of the two opposite interior angles.
- How many Lines, angles, and triangles questions are on the SAT?
- College Board does not publish a count per question type, only per content domain. Geometry and Trigonometry makes up about 15 percent of the Math section, which is roughly 6 of the 40 scored Math questions on a full form. Questions on this skill come out of that share.
