À quoi ressemblent les questions
A short passage plus a table or graph. The choices are sentences that describe the data, often a comparison between two groups or a trend across several years.
L'erreur qui coûte des points
Reporting a number without the comparison the sentence needs, or reading the wrong axis. A choice can state a true value from the table and still fail to complete the sentence.
Comment la traiter
Read the axis labels, units, and legend before the choices. Then find the claim the sentence is making and match it to the exact row, column, or year it needs.

Questions sur Command of Evidence: Quantitative
- Do you have to calculate anything on these questions?
- Almost never. The arithmetic is light, and the work is matching a sentence to the right part of the table. If a question seems to need heavy computation, you are probably reading the wrong row or column.
- What is the most common reason a data question is missed?
- Reading only the highlighted values. The choices often turn on a comparison the table supports, so a value that looks right in isolation can describe the wrong group, the wrong year, or the wrong direction of change.
- How many Command of Evidence: Quantitative questions are on the SAT?
- College Board does not publish a count per question type, only per content domain. Information and Ideas makes up about 26 percent of the Reading and Writing section, which is roughly 13 of the 50 scored Reading and Writing questions on a full form. Questions on this skill come out of that share.
